These cat photo winners “From Feral To Fancy” are perfect pictures
“Trapking” Sterling Davis is on a mission to save cats and educate people on how to become a cat hero too. In collaboration with the Cat Fanciers’ Association, Davis recently hosted the TrapKing’s From Feral to Fancy TNR Fundraising Cat Photo Contest to get the message across and have fun with cute cat photos.
The aim of the photo competition was to raise awareness and resources for the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs, which are dedicated to neutering, neutering and vaccinating wild and community cats. These programs have saved the lives of countless cats while slowing the kitten cycle in many cities. And in this fun way to raise awareness, Davis and the CFA got together with some of the big names in the cat world to sift through 850+ cat photo entries.
With over 100 great prizes sponsored by cat-centric companies like Zymox and Oratene, Kitty Poo Club, CUDDLY, Yeowww! Catnip, Furniture, Catalyst pet, Tomahawk Live Trap, and Tabby dates, who could resist?
The fancy cats took part in the courses Beautiful Eyes, Cats in Costume, Cat Lady / Cat Daddy and Outdoor Photography. Prominent judges, Kate Benjamin from House panther, Talk show host and columnist Arden Moore, Laura Moss from Adventure cats, Cat experts The two crazy cat ladies, Sunglasses cat, Nathan the cat lady, the Cowboy Cat Wrangler, the Mad Catter, and Dobby the Sphynx and Lobo the Lykoi viewed the photos and selected the grand prize winners from their respective classes.
The original TrapKing even judged the “Where’s your cat?” Category!

In addition to the kitten prizes, each of the first place winners won a special spot on a billboard in Times Square, New York City, March 11-12, 2021!
All cats need our love
The Cat Fanciers’ Association is known for their work with pedigree cats, but that doesn’t mean these cat lovers don’t all like cats.
Davis said, “I love how CFA recognizes that rescue, shelter, and wild cats are just as beautiful as the fancy pedigree cats.”
Cat parents around the world agree with this sentiment too! Entries came from the US, Canada, Europe and even South Africa, with 85% of the participants being rescue cats.

“This event was so amazing!” Said Davis. “I loved all of the pictures of the cats and looked at each one. I wish everyone could have won a prize. “

Cat lovers unite
TrapKing Sterling Davis isn’t just trying to save cats. He also seeks to bring diversity to the rescue world to “not only change the stereotypes of men in cat rescue, but also to bridge the communication gap between black communities and animal rescue / local animal shelters”.
Desiree Bobby, Marketing Director of CFA, explains that Davis “brings together contrasting groups of cat lovers. . . Men and women, rescue / TNR program supporters, and responsible breeders. “

Bobby also shared, “We are all connected by our love for cats and our commitment to doing what’s right for them.”
And doing the right thing for cats is not only worthwhile, it’s pretty cool too. As trapking always says, “You don’t lose cool points for compassion.”
